The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has published the detailed report on migration in the world, which is the ninth such report since 2000.
The report contains the latest data, statistic, and sources which may be useful for the study of migration processes and the work on migration policy. This is specially important because of the tendency of prejudgment and falsehood of the modern sources of information and empirical data insufficiency.
The World Migration Report 2018 differs in that it focused on a number of issues that have not been covered by the World Migration Report Series earlier. It includes:
- development of global mechanisms of the international migration management
- the relationship between migration and rapidly changing levels and types of transnational ties
- migrant’s in the migration process
- migration and violent extremism.
Particular attention is paid to the current role of media in countries around the world. The media is important because it broadcasts thoughts and views of citizens, politicians, and even whole societies on the issues of migration.
The study takes into account the diversity of aspects associated with different levels of governance within countries, different types of policy, the role of state and supranational structures, time variations, the quality of educational, social, etc. policy within the world.
