Visa-free travel for Ukraine will be available in a few months, as legal formalities within the European Union itself will be accomplished, says Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine, Ambassador Hugues Mingarelli, according to UNIAN.
“European authorities have decided that in a few months, citizens of Ukraine will be able to travel to EU countries without visas. This decision has already been made. There is a consensus of all 28 EU member states. The visa-free regime will come into force in a few months. I cannot tell you an exact date, but the point at issue are legal formalities within the European Union itself,” Mingarelli said during his visit to Kharkiv on Tuesday, December 13.
Earlier this day predicted date of consideration of visa waiver for Ukraine in Europarliament was shifted to February, 1 from January, 18.
On December 7 European Parliament and Council of the EU reached an agreement on suspension mechanism that had been blocking the procedure on visa waiver for Ukraine and Georgia.
