Ukraine closes its borders due to COVID-19

Ukraine closes its borders for regular passenger traffic and bans entry for foreigners. We publish a brief insight in when the ban starts, who is the subject for entry ban and who may still enter the country.

All data is based on information from Ukrainian authorities. Sole responsibility for its relevance belongs to government of Ukraine.

Entry ban for foreigners

Timeframe: 00:00 March 16 (Kyiv time) – April 3

Who is subject: all foreign citizens and stateless persons

Exceptions:

  1. Owners of right for tempory and permanent residence in the country (these may include owners of residence permits, recognised refugees etc – Europe without Barriers)
  2. Spouses or children of Ukrainian citizens
  3. Representatives of foreign diplomatic missions accredited in Ukraine and their family members
  4. Representatives of official international missions accredited in Ukraine and their family members
  5. Crew members
  6. Drivers and stuff of cargo trucks
  7. Other foreigners after confirmation by Ukraine’s MFA

Timeframe: 00:00 March 17 (Kyiv time) – April 3
