Most of aircraft used by Ukrainian companies are leased, average age of a jet is 22 years, only 3 companies use “Antonov” planes, reports Centre for Transport Strategies with reference to data by State Registry of Civic Aircrafts.
According to research, 15 Ukrainian companies operate totally 118 planes (excluding helicopters, cargo planes, trainer aircraft and planes which are not used although they are on company’s balance).
102 of them are leased. Most popular host countries include USA (23), Cyprus (21), Ireland (11), UAE (8), Singapore (7), Portugal (7). Only 4 companies posess their own jets – “Motor Sich Airline”, “Ukraine Air Enterprise”, “Air Urga”, “IAU”.
“Motor-Sich” operates the oldest aircraft (average age 35,16 years), “Ukraine Air Enterprise” – the newest one (average age 10,6).
105 of 118 planes are produced abroad. Only three companies operate “Antonov” jets.
