In 2022, Ukraine ranked 116th among 180 countries in the World Corruption Perception Index, improving its performance by one rank compared to 2021.
The same year Ukraine received EU candidate status and was acknowledged as a potential member of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). On June 7th 2023, Ukraine was invited to participate in the OECD ministers meeting for the first time. During it, a Ukraine-focused program was both approved and unveiled. Its goal is to align Ukraine’s practices with that of the OECD in the next two years, thus enabling it to join the organization.
At the beginning of November, the Ukrainian government approved a step-by-step program implementation plan while also identifying the governmental bodies in charge.
