As of December 11, six months after the start of the visa-free regime, it was used by 355 thousand Ukrainian citizens, reports the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
“More than 128,000 Ukrainians used aviation for travel, 227 thousand traveled by car and rail, and a small number of citizens traveled through sea crossing points,” – the report said.
Most non-visa travelers traveled across the border with Poland and Romania – almost 90 thousand and 65 thousand people, respectively.
If in the first summer months, the visa-free regime usage was on average 80 thousand people per month, in November this figure decreased to 32.5 thousand.

At the same time, the total number of trips of Ukrainian citizens to European countries during the three summer months of 2017 increased by 10% compared to the same period of 2016.
In general, since June 11, 2017, 10 million 600 thousand Ukrainian citizens crossed Ukrainian border with the EU countries. Of these, more than 2.5 million Ukrainians, although having biometric passports, traveled with previously issued long-term visas. 7.7 million Ukrainians went to the EU countries with visas in travel passports of the old model, DW reports referring to the assistant to the head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Oleg Slobodian.
