EWB executive director Iryna Sushko will take part in two international meetings for civil society activists to be held in Stockholm, Sweden, on September 17-22, 2017.
- #STOCKHOLM4EAP
#STOCKHOLM4EAP is a meeting to discuss necessary reforms in Eastern Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine), as well as to discuss how to make these reforms sustainable and value-driven. Produced recommendations on reforms can then be used in various outreach and advocacy efforts, ensuring the voices of civil society.
Conference will be held from September 17 to September 20. Sixty participants will join the discussion.
The event is organized by Forum Syd with support from the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- STOCKHOLM CIVIL SOCIETY DAYS 2017
Stockholm Civil Society Days 2017 (SCSD 2017) is an international event in Stockholm for practitioners working in or with civil society organisations involved in international development cooperation.
This year´s SCSD focuses on shrinking civic space. The accelerating repression of civic freedoms and democratic space in many countries means that civil society, development cooperation and policy needs to do more, better and braver.
The purpose of SCSD is an exchange of experiences and practices to inspire participants to make change happen. The focus is not on formulating the problem or showcasing glossy achievements, but on questioning old truths and exploring new strategies for action in development cooperation and policy.
SCSD will gather 300 participants. The event is co-organised by Sida, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, and CONCORD Sweden, platform of CSOs for global development.
