Journalist Rikard Jozwiak focusing on the procedure of visa liberalization for Ukraine and Georgia claims that visa waiver for Ukraine will enter into force on June, 12 and for Georgia – on March, 29.

“t is estimated that visa liberalization will enter into force on 29 of March for Georgia and 12 of June for Ukraine” – he wrote on Twitter.

Yesterday he noticed that trilogue on visa waiver for Ukraine would take place on February, 28, immediately after suspension mechanism was adopted by Council of the EU.

Earlier COREPER has stated that trilogue on visa waiver for Ukraine should start after the revised suspension mechanism is adopted by EU institutions.

“Visa waiver will likely start functioning in the summer – it is confirmed by several independent sources in the EU, but we still believe that we should be cautious with naming the exact dates until last stages of the procedure would be passed. On the other hand, it is already time to prepare biometric passports and study the rules of crossing the border under the visa exemption. It will allow to reach EU countries freely and to avoid the increase in statistics of refusals and violations that would be monitored by the EU”, – commented Iryna Sushko, the executive director of Europe without barriers.
