Georgia may receive visa-free travels to the EU earlier than Ukraine as trialogue on visa liberalization for Georgia probably will take place next Wednesday, December 14, and one for Ukraine will be delayed, according to the Yevropeyska Pravda quoting Radio Liberty correspondent in Brussels Rikard Jozwiak.

“Visa liberalisation trialogue for Georgia is likely to happen on Wednesday and it will be the 1st and the last one. Ukraine trialogue to happen when suspension mechanism is formally adopted. It may happen early next year”, – Jozwiak says.

This division is confirmed by the letter of Europarliament rapporteur on visa liberalisation for Ukraine Mariya Gabriel, adressed to the Slovak Presidency .

Gabriel notes that COREPER decision on Ukrainian visa waiver states that trilogues would not start till suspension mechanism is formally adopted and calls the Presidency to update its position to start trilogue immediately.
